Construction of the world’s first plant producing core parts
of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle
Our company has constructed a new plant to manufacture core parts of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle within the existing
complex (110,000㎡) of producing parts for eco-friendly vehicles, located in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, and will
start test operation from September. The new plant was completed with investment of approx. 700 million won and
is in size of 13,000㎡ (about 4,000 pyeong). It is equipped with the advanced production facility that can manufactur
e ‘PFC_Powertrain Fuelcell Complete), which is combined with various core parts. With the construction of the recent
production plant, our company has prepared a foundation to produce 3,000 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles per year, and
it was designed to expand production to more than ten thousands units according to future market demand.
The production of 3,000 core parts of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle is regarded very high among the global competitors,
and it has a great significance that we are the first to mass produce core parts from production to system assembly,
based on our exclusive technology.
The PFC module produced in the new plant consists of a fuel cell stack, drive motor, power electronic parts, and a fuel cell supply device. The fuel cell stack is a high-tech core component of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle which generates electricity, a power source of vehicle, by chemically reacting stored fuel cell and oxygen in the air, and acts as a vehicle engine when hit by a general internal combustion engine. The fuel cell stack is a major component of a thin film-type MEA_Membrane Electrode Assembly, which affects performances such as fuel economy and durability. Our company completes the process from producing MEA to assembling system composed of hundreds of parts, in one production line.
In the future, we plan to manufacture the drive motors and power electronic parts, which are the common parts of eco-friendly vehicles in the existing plant 1, and supply it to the new plant. And in the new plant, we will not only mass produce MEA, the core parts of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle and fuel cell stacks, but also finish producing the PFC module, which is the final combination of these products, and send it to the production line of finished vehicle.
现代摩比斯在韩国最先研发了在实现V2G(Vehicle To Grid)中发挥核心作用的电动汽车搭载型双向充电器（Bi-directional On Board Charger，以下简称双向OBC）。V2G是将EV、PHEV充电式环保车与电网相连接，灵活利用车辆停泊时闲置电力的概念，其原理是通过电网为电动汽车充电，行驶后，通过电网将剩余电量再次送电（放电），即发挥作为电动汽车驱动的能量储存装置（ESS, Energy Storage System）作用，车辆供应的电力少则可以供家庭使用，多则可以作为社区等地的紧急电力使用。
为实现V2G，需要有▲充电式环保车, ▲双向OBC, ▲双向充电站, ▲放电收费系统等，其中，电力变换的核心为“双向OBC”，除了示范项目外，目前几乎没有量产的事例，是在全球尚未正式普及的新一代零部件。
